Illinois NRCS set to help farmers, partners capture opportunities

The Illinois Natural Resources Conservation Service’s new assistant state conservationist for partnerships discusses his role and opportunities with an infusion of federal dollars. “With IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) funds, I foresee opportunities to use those to create new partnerships,” said Eric Gerth, who has been with NRCS for nearly 30 years.   Read more

Raoul joins 27 AGs in support for federal right-to-repair legislation

Nearly 30 state attorneys general, including Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, asked Congress to adopt federal right-to-repair legislation. “It is about ensuring that farmers can repair their tractors for a reasonable price and quickly enough to harvest their crops,” they wrote in a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.   Read more
