Rhoda Travels to DC to Advocate for Ag

Farm Bill discussions served as the primary focus of the recent Illinois Farm Bureau Leaders to Washington trip held March 6-9.

McLean County Farm Bureau advisory board member, Alex Rhoda, traveled to the nation’s capital to advocate for agriculture and push for completing a Farm Bill in 2023. He participated in a delegation of nine Illinois farmers.

Rhoda met with Congressman Darin LaHood, R-Dunlap, as well as U.S. Sens. Tammy Duckworth, D-Hoffman Estates, and Dick Durbin, D-Springfield and other elected officials.

The group also met with American Farm Bureau Federation staff and visited with representatives from the Mexican embassy about trade issues including the GMO corn ban.
Illinois Farm Bureau coordinates Leaders to Washington trips for farmer members to meet directly with legislators and regulators to discuss key issues.
