Edgar County Farm Bureau President Amanda Tate isn’t one to shy away from an opportunity in the ag industry.

She farms and runs an equipment business near Paris with her husband, Eric, works for the Farm Service Agency in Edgar County, hauls grain at harvest and helps care for the family’s cattle herd and show pigs. A mother of three, Tate has also volunteered in various roles with Illinois Farm Bureau for more than a decade prior to becoming county president. “I really do enjoy being busy.
