McLean County Farm Bureau in partnership with Bloomington Meats donated more than 300 pounds of frozen ground beef and frozen ground pork to Thornton Township Food Assistance Center last week to feed families in need.

Located in our adopted legislator, Rep. Thaddeus Jones’ district, the food assistance center serves communities south of Chicago.

The meat donation was delivered by McLean County Farm Bureau members Brian Dirks, David Schuler, Brian Bangert and Patrick Killian.

The Illinois Farm Bureau Adopt-A-Legislator program pairs urban legislators with downstate county Farm Bureaus to build relationships and expand mutual understanding of rural and urban issues.
