2021 Golden Clover Honorees

Five dedicated supporters and volunteers of the McLean County Fair and 4-H programs were honored as 2021 Golden Clover recipients.

Sharon Hoobler received a Golden Clover for her service as organizational leader of the Stylistics 4-H club and as a Home & Family Director on the McLean County Fair Board from 1991-97. She also coordinated sewing and modeling workshops at the county, regional and state levels and has been a clothing and textiles judge since 1997.

Connie Moore was honored with a Golden Clover for her service as a sewing project superintendent and as Royalty Supervisor for 12 years. She also helped with the Stylistics 4-H Club and assisted members as a sewing and clothing project “guru.”

Marge Builta was recognized as an Emerald Clover as a leader of the Bellflower Pride of the Prairie 4-H club for 12 years and serving as a project judge for baking and visual arts. Marge was also active in the McLean County Hog Barn and volunteered/helped coordinate the McLean County Pork Producers food stand.

Byron Jones was honored as an Emerald Clover for serving as a 4-H Leader of the Saybrook Willing Workers. He also served as Beef Superintendent for more than five years and as a judge at several 4-H fairs.

Barb Ely received a Special Clover for her work as secretary at the McLean County Extension office from the 1980s through 2009. She provided support for 4-H members and their families throughout the years and during the county fair.
