2019 Golden Clover Winners

Four dedicated supporters of 4-H and the McLean County Fair received recognition as 2019 Golden and Emerald Clover Award winners.

Ruth Poppe was honored as a Golden Clover for serving as a leader of the Space Age Pioneers 4-H Club for 24 years, project superintendent and volunteer judge for 4-H activities. She was also on the McLean County Extension Council and Foundation Board.

John Olson was recognized for his service on the McLean County Fair board from 1991-97 and from 2005-12. He was also a founding member of the Ag Education committee and instrumental in building education exhibits including the combine cab simulator, grain bin and more. The award was accepted by his son, Rush Olson.

The late Bonnie Lee received an Emerald Clover in recognition for her work supporting 4-H clubs and volunteering as a judge and superintendent in Visual Arts, Foods and Cake Decorating. The award was accepted by Kristin Arnold.

Roger Kaufman also received an Emerald Clover for his work as assistant superintendent and announcer of the Hog Show for eight years. He was also a big supporter of the MY Ag Premium Auction. The award was accepted by members of the Kaufman family.

McLean County Farm Bureau President, Mark Hines, presented the awards Wed., July 31 during the 4-H Royalty Contest at the Fair.
