USDA PREDICTS SIZABLE SHIFT IN PLANTED ACREAGE

Based on the latest estimates from the USDA’s prospective plantings report, corn plantings this spring could hit a hefty 92.8 million acres, up 4 percent from last year. Soybean plantings are expected to drop by 5 percent to 84.6 million acres. Still, with much of the Midwest and Great Plains still under water, those number very likely will change. (FarmWeekNow.com)
