FLOODING, BUDGET ADD INSULT TO TRADE WAR INJURY – For farmers stuck in the middle of President Donald Trump’s trade war with China, recent heavy rains and flooding across the Midwest are making a bad economic situation worse, with many worried they may not survive both tariffs and the natural disaster. Trump’s proposed FY2020 budget, which calls for a 15 percent cut from the USDA, only added insult to injury. “How many times do you have to kick us while we’re down?” said John Hansen, president of the Nebraska Farmers Union.
