WIND TURBINES CAN CREATE INTERFERENCE ON WEATHER APPS

You might be surprised to see weather conditions forming on a clear day when you check the weather app on your smartphone. It could be a side effect of wind farm interference instead of inclement weather. “The massive size of turbines, sometimes taller than 400 feet, and the wind they generate can create interference on nearby Doppler radar,” said Chris Miller, warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Lincoln.
