SCHOOL LUNCHES GET A HELPING OF MILK

The USDA is throwing out Obama-era school nutrition standards and, in the process, throwing a lifeline to the dairy industry. Rolled back by the Trump Administration and USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue, the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act will no longer limit milk to skim and will allow additional dairy products back on school lunch menus. Critics of the move say the shift will add more fat, sugar and salt to the diets of already obese youngsters. (Bloomberg)
