ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE SEEKS INPUT ON INDUSTRIAL HEMP PROGRAM –

ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE SEEKS INPUT ON INDUSTRIAL HEMP PROGRAM – Illinoisans still have time to weigh in on the state’s new industrial hemp program to help determine regulations for growing the crop. “It would give farmers an alternative commodity crop,” Rachel Berry, a farmer and an organizer for the Illinois Industrial Hemp Association said. “The tariffs on soy and corn have really devastated farmers recently, and adding an alternative commodity crop could give them something that they can grow and make some money.” (Illinois News Network)
