FEDERAL SHUTDOWN SLOWS AID TO FARMERS IMPACTED BY TARIFFS –

FEDERAL SHUTDOWN SLOWS AID TO FARMERS IMPACTED BY TARIFFS – Trade tariffs between the U.S. and China continue, but the countries promised last month no new tariffs for 90 days – and that affects soybeans. The partial shutdown also means farmers don’t have access to resources from the USDA, including some payments from the government to make up some of the loss in tariffs, and FSAs, or FSAs are not open where farmers can seek loans.
