FARMERS GET MORE TIME TO APPLY FOR BAILOUT FUNDS –

FARMERS GET MORE TIME TO APPLY FOR BAILOUT FUNDS – Farmers were granted an extension Tuesday to apply for Market Facilitation Program payments. Jan. 15 was the deadline to apply through local USDA FSA offices which have been due to the government shutdown. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue pushed the deadline back for as many days as the local FSA offices are closed during the shutdown. Perdue also said farmers will continue to receive payments if they had already applied and certified their production. (The News Gazette)
