PERDUE TALKS TRADE, FARM BILL – In appearances before the Illinois Farm Bureau annual meeting and the DTNN Ag Summit, USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue Monday said he plans to restrict state waivers to ease eligibility for food stamps in an effort to secure farm bill passage. Perdue also said he is optimistic about the agreement between the U.S. and China, as well as the signing of the USMCA, but that challenges remain, including retaliatory tariffs by Canada, China and Mexico.
