HOUSE TO TAKE UP SPENDING BILL – Following in the Senate’s footsteps, the U.S. House Thursday is expected to pass a short-term spending bill to keep the government open until early February. The move leaves one unanswered question: Will the president sign it? If signed into law, the measure would extend the fight over funding for the president’s promised border wall.
