SESSIONS OUT, WHITAKER IN – There was more turnover in the White House this week as President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wednesday and replaced him with Matthew G. Whitaker, a loyalist who has echoed Trump’s complaints about the special counsel investigation into Russia’s 2016 election interference. Whitaker served as Sessions’ chief of staff and was a U.S. attorney in Iowa prior to being tapped as acting attorney general. (New York Times)
