PILING UP AND PILING ON

Soybean farmers in the eastern Dakotas – and across the country – are looking for new ways to store stockpiled soybeans. Since China imposed tariffs on American soybeans in retaliation to Trump administration tariffs on Chinese goods, soybean sales to China have dropped by 94 percent compared with this time last year. Meanwhile, China is courting other global trading partners in an effort to sidestep U.S. tariffs.
