Despite an ongoing trade war monkeying with sales and profits, American farmers are sticking with President Donald Trump – and his Republican supports. About 79 percent approve or strongly approve of the president, according to a survey of 600 commercial farmers and ranchers commissioned by AgriPulse. “There’s a belief and trust that those sort of [trade] arrangements, even though they are causing short-term pain, they will lead to long-term structural benefits,” said Arun Pillai-Essex, an analyst for global risk consultancy Verisk Maplecroft.
