FARMERS HOLDING ON TO BEANS – Caught in the middle of the U.S.-China trade war, soybean farmers are taking a huge gamble: they’re holding on to their crop. Rather than selling beans right away, they’re storing in silos, containers, bins and bags, hoping trade tensions ease and the price goes up. While the gamble could pay off, farmers also could fall victim to risks, including further price erosion, or the crop going bad while they wait. (Bloomberg)
