AID PROGRAM AIDING FEW – The $12 billion bailout program for farmers caught in the U.S.’ trade war with China has done little to make up for lost markets and dipping profits. According to the USDA, just $838 million has been paid out since September, with red tape and long waiting periods snarling payouts. Meanwhile, according to the EWG, at least 1,100 residents of the 50 largest cities – many of them far removed from the farm – have received payments from the aid program.
