The U.S.’ trade wars have allowed Canada’s agriculture industry to pump up sales of soybeans and wheat to other countries, but also are undermining commodity prices and eating into Canadian farmers’ profit margins despite increased market share. Still, Canada’s ambassador to Washington Friday struck an optimistic tone over a dispute with the U.S. over steel and aluminum tariffs, saying he thought both sides would resolve their differences “sooner rather than later.”
