U.S. APPROVES BAYER-MONSANTO DEAL – Bayer won U.S. approval for it’s planned buyout of Monsanto after agreeing to sell about $9 billion in assets. The U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division said the asset sales agreed to by Bayer were the “largest ever divestiture ever required by the United States.” Once completed, Bayer’s takeover will create the largest seeds and pesticides maker.
