Below normal temperatures are putting the month of April on track to set a record, challenging the record set in 1907. The average temperature for the first 11 days of the month was 35.6 degrees – a full 12 degrees below normal. The wintry weather has challenged farmers throughout the state and delayed spring planting. (Peoria Journal-Star)
