While speaking to reporters at the IFB annual meeting in Chicago, Gov. Bruce Rauner said it wasn’t him running the state – it’s House Speaker Michael Madigan. The governor was asked if he was in charge, despite Speaker Madigan being around for 35 years and Rauner responded, “I wish I had. We would have our problems fixed. Illinois would be on a great future…I’m not in charge. I’m trying to be in charge.” (Chicago Tribune)
