The FDA this week released its annual report of antibiotics sold in the U.S. for food animal use, finding that sales of medically important antibiotics in 2016 declined by 14 percent compared with 2015. The report is the strongest evidence so far that the FDA’s efforts to limit antibiotic use on farms are having an effect. (NPR’s The Salt)
