For many farmers, President Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of TPP was a costly mistake. Already reeling from four consecutive years of declining farm income, TPP would have opened new markets and helped buoy falling commodity prices. Now, seven months after pulling out of the deal, Politico found the hits keep coming for farmers. Eleven TPP countries are now involved in 27 separate trade deals with each other and other countries, creating even bigger competitive disadvantages for U.S. farmers.
