Monsanto’s agreement this year to use CRISPR technology represents a key advancement in the world of crop improvements as it could provide a simpler and more precise tool for making targeted improvements in a cell’s DNA. “Precision (gene) editing is poised to deliver new improvements,” said Robb Fraley, chief technology officer, Monsanto. “Breeding has changed remarkably.
