The Illinois House today is expected to take up Illinois’ education funding formula, but not to override the governor’s amendatory veto from earlier this month. Instead, the House is expected to put Gov. Bruce Rauner’s changes into a new bill and call it for a vote, most likely failing to approve it. The action would give Democrats time to gather votes necessary for an override while also showing the lack of support for Rauner’s changes. (Pantagraph)
