85% of U.S. adults now get news on a mobile device, up from 72% just a year ago, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Surprisingly, the surge in mobile use has come from older people, with 67% of Americans ages 65 and older now getting their news on a mobile device. Results are similar among 50- to 64-year-olds, with 79% now getting news on mobile platforms. The growth rate was nonexistent for adults younger than 50.
