Dairy farms across Wisconsin may end up shuttering their farms and selling herds after processors this month canceled their milk contracts. The move comes after Canadian dairy farmers cut prices on their ultrafiltered milk in an effort to boost their own market and stem imports coming from U.S. dairy farms. Processors say the move, which forced the cancellations, has already caused losses of $150 million since the price drop began. (Washington Post)
