#Illinois’ public universities could soon face a tougher time borrowing money after Moody’s Investors Service downgraded the rating for Northeastern Illinois University and warned that six others could soon follow suit. In its Tuesday report, Moody’s bumped NEIU down two levels to junk status, citing “weakened cash flow” caused, in part, by the state’s budget impasse. (Chicago Tribune)
