The #Illinois General Assembly last week began its two-week spring break without logging any progress on a permanent spending plan. The House approved an $817 million stopgap budget backed by Democrats but panned by Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. The Senate continued to work on their ‘Grand Bargain’ spending plan, though no vote was ever taken. (Pantagraph)
