President Donald Trump Wednesday delayed by at least six months GIPSA rules, an initiative rolled out by former President Barack Obama designed to protect the legal rights of farmers who grow chickens and hogs under contract. The rules would make it easier for farmers to sue companies over unfair, discriminatory or deceptive practices. Farm organizations, including AFBF, support the rule, but trade groups for the pork and poultry industries oppose it. (New York Times)
