A draft of President Donald Trump’s NAFTA proposal suggests the administration is softening its approach to the 23-year-old trade deal, seeking mostly modest changes. According to the proposal, the U.S. would keep some of NAFTA’s most controversial provisions with few ‘far-reaching’ changes. However, the draft does call for allowing nations to reinstate tariffs in cases where imports cause “serious injury or threat of serious injury” to domestic industries. (Wall Street Journal)
