Douglas County farmers pitched in to help Newman farmer Dave Young harvest 230 acres of corn after Young was injured in an accident which prevented him from getting his crop out of the field. “Having grown up on a farm, you never want to see a situation where someone can’t take out their crop for harvest,” said Douglas County Farm Bureau Manager Tyler Harvey, who helped organize the effort. More than 40 people were at Young’s farm Wednesday to help. (News-Gazette)
