With the world’s arable land maxed out and wild seafood overfished, experts at a conference on sustainable food at the Monterey Bay Aquarium said farmed fish could be the answer for the world’s hunger problem, especially as standards of living rise and people eat more protein and more meat. Currently, just 15 percent of world animal protein consumption comes from aquaculture, but that number could quickly be ramped up, as reported by USA Today.
