A section of the upper Mississippi River was closed to commercial traffic by the Coast Guard over the weekend for emergency dredging operations after a tow boat ran aground in low water near Quincy, Illinois, on Saturday. The disruption is preventing many grain elevators north of the closure from receiving empty barges they need to continue loading out grain.
