Chip Petrea was baling hay on the family farm near Iuka in Marion County in 1978 when he became trapped inside a working baler, causing the amputation of both legs above the knees. Petrea was in Normal, Ill. Monday as a panelist on farm safety with the International Society for Ag Safety and Health conference. The four-day conference which concludes Wednesday focuses on preventing agricultural injuries and illnesses, as reported by the Pantagraph.
