GOT MILK?

Despite notable marketing campaigns such as the “got milk?” slogan, Americans consume 37 percent less of the drink than they did in 1970, according to the USDA, even as the sale of cheese, yogurt and other dairy products is climbing. Cheese consumption has nearly tripled over that period.

CEREAL DECLINES

Kellogg’s reports that its cereal sales have declined 5.5% this year, as consumers reach for Greek yogurt and breakfast sandwiches.  Both Kellogg’s and General Mills are developing new strategies to make ready-to-eat cereal more attractive.
