DRONE SURVEY

A new Reuters survey finds 42% of respondents oppose private ownership of drones or UAVs, suggesting they prefer restricting them to officials or experts trained in safe operation. Another 30 percent said private UAV ownership was fine, and 28 percent were not sure.

MORE DRONES APPROVED

The Federal Aviation Administration is allowing four companies to use drones for commercial purposes, the agency said Wednesday. The companies want to fly drones for aerial surveying, construction-site monitoring and oil-rig inspections, according to the FAA. Farmers and Amazon are still on the waiting list.
