GRAIN BELT EXPRESS

The Illinois Commerce Commission today approved Grain Belt Express Clean Line to construct a 600 kV, 4,000 MW high voltage transmission line. The line would traverse Illinois through Pike, Scott, Greene, Macoupin, Montgomery, Christian, Shelby, Cumberland, and Clark counties.

GRAIN BELT EXPRESS

The Illinois FarmBureau Board Thursday voted to intervene in a proposed high-voltage direct current overhead transmission line case before the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC). In counties along the proposed route, several county Farm Bureau boards oppose the project and requested IFB intervene.

POWER LINE RULING

The Illinois Commerce Commission last week granted Ameren eminent domain powers to proceed with its Illinois Rivers transmission line.  The ruling impacts properties between Meredosia and Ipava.  Commissioners approved a similar ruling for properties in Adams County in May. The power line would stretch from Quincy to the Indiana border at Terre Haute.
