Gov. Bruce Rauner Friday demanded legislative leaders send him Senate Bill 1 by noon Monday. If lawmakers do not send the bill, Rauner said, he’ll call a special session immediately. Rauner plans to use amendatory veto power to scrap the bill’s funding for Chicago Public Schools and redistribute the funding to downstate schools. (State Journal-Register)
