Apple CEO Tim Cook told a White House tech summit this week, he’s concerned how some tech firms use data.  According to Cook, “Some of the most prominent and successful companies (in Silicon Valley) have built their businesses by lulling their customers into complacency about their personal information.”  He thinks it’s wrong.

BIG DATA AGREEMENT

A new Pew Research poll finds 91% of adults in the survey “agree” or “strongly agree” that consumers have lost control over how personal information is collected and used by companies.

BIG DATA SURVEY

CELLPHONE PRIVACY

 Treating modern cellphones as gaping windows into nearly all aspects of the user’s life and private conduct, the Supreme Court on Wednesday unanimously ordered police to get a search warrant before examining the contents of any such device they take from a person they have arrested.
