MONSANTO, FARM GROUPS SUE OVER LABEL WARNINGS

Monsanto and farm groups today filed suit against California to stop the state from requiring cancer warnings on products containing glyphosate. California added glyphosate to its list of cancer-causing chemicals in July and will require that products containing the chemical carry warnings by July 2018. (Reuters)

NEW CORN HERBICIDE RECEIVES EPA REGISTRATION

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved the registration of Resicore herbicide, which will be available to growers for the 2016 growing season. Resicore is a premix herbicide with three active ingredients and three modes of action, as reported by Agriculture.com.

MONSANTO SEEKS RETRACTION FOR REPORT LINKING HERBICIDE TO CANCER

Monsanto Co. maker of the world’s most widely used herbicide wants the World Health Organization to retract a report linking the chief ingredient in Roundup to cancer. The company calls the report biased and that it contradicts regulatory findings that the ingredient, glyphosate, is safe when used as labeled.
