MEDIA UPDATE

Seven Illinois public broadcasters are banding together to improve news coverage in downstate Illinois. The collaboration project will include WILL Radio/TV in Urbana, WTVP-TV in Peoria, WUIS in Springfield, WSIU in Carbondale, Tri-States Public Radio in Macomb, WVIK in Rock Island and WEIU-TV in Charleston.

DIGITAL FUTURE

Business Insider CEO Henry Blodget says all forms of current media (print, radio and TV) are shrinking, except digital. During a presentation this week, he says in 2000 digital media had a 3% share of the audience.  Today, it is 40% and by 2030, Blodget says 80%+ will be digital.
