A former peanut company executive was sentenced Monday to 28 years in prison for his role in a deadly salmonella outbreak, the stiffest punishment ever handed out to a producer in a foodborne illness case.

FOOD AND HEALTH SURVEY

36% of Americans ages 18 to 80 said “chemicals” are their top food safety concern followed by 34% who were concerned about food borne illness from bacteria, according to a 2015 survey which included responses from 1,007 people.
