ETHANOL RETURNS TO RAILS

Our friends at GROWMARK Energy tell us propane production is currently running about 600,000 barrels/day above demand. Domestic demand cannot keep up with the supply.

WIND FARM ZONING

Some Illinois counties and municipalities would be allowed to create zoning regulations for wind farm under legislation unanimously endorsed in a House committee Wednesday. The sponsor of the legislation state Rep. Tom Bennett, R-Gibson City, said the measure clarified existing laws regarding the placement of wind turbines, the Pantagraph reports.

NEW REFINERY ONLINE

The Dakota Prairie refinery, the first oil refinery built in the U.S. since 1976, has begun producing diesel fuel in southwestern North Dakota, and is expected to begin sales of the product later this month.

PROPANE PRICES

Propane prices have remained relatively calm despite U.S. stocks topping 62 million barrels. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a propane inventory build of in excess of 2 million barrels for the second week in a row, a little above expectations.
