ETHANOL PURCHASE

CHS has purchased Patriot Renewable Fuels’ Illinois ethanol plant in Annawan. The cooperative bought its first ethanol plant, a 133 million-gallon facility in Rochelle, Illinois, last year. CHS is one of the largest merchandisers of distillers’ grains.

DDGs IMPORT HALT

Quarantine authorities in China have stopped issuing permits for the import of distillers dried grains (DDGs) from top exporter the United States due to the presence in some shipments of an unapproved genetically-modified organism (GMO), Reuters reports. China took half of the DDGs exported by the U.S. in April.
