CUBA TRADE

Last week the Illinois Cuba Working Group led a high-level, bi-partisan delegation visit to Cuba that included U.S. Representatives Rodney Davis (R, IL-13) and Cheri Bustos (D, IL-17), to explore next steps in opening trade between the two countries, including a permanent space where Illinois agricultural organizations can conduct business.

SENATE BILL WOULD END CUBA TRADE EMBARGO

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), along with a bipartisan group of lawmakers that includes Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), introduced a bill Thursday that would pave a way for American companies to do business in China. The Freedom to Export to Cuba Act would end decades-old laws that prohibit U.S. businesses from trading with or operating in China.
