GMO Perceptions

More than half (57%) of U.S. adults believe that GM foods are generally unsafe to eat, while 37% say these foods are safe, according to a Pew Research Center survey. Women are more likely than men to view GM foods as unsafe (65% vs. 49%).

USA TODAY AND GMOs

Despite overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary, most Americans believe that food altered by genetically modified organisms — GMOs — is harmful, the newspaper’s editorial board says. IT’S OFFICIAL

China has officially approved imports of Viptera, a GMO corn seed at the center of a string of lawsuits over U.S. grain shipments, Syngenta AG said on Monday, ending uncertainty after a five-year review. Syngenta’s Agrisure Viptera corn strain has been under scrutiny since late last year.

VIPTERA FOLLOWUP
